One of my friends jokingly accused me of dropping off of the radar. Indeed, I have had a weak online presence recently.
Beyond the activities I have previously posted – participation in book clubs and other organizations – I have also traveled a bit, enjoying thought-provoking conversations, beautiful vistas, historical places, and, sometimes, delicious food. Within the comfort of libraries, I have given presentations in a quintessential, small-town (Moultonborough, NH), modern school (Creekside High School, St. Johns, FL) and in conjunction with a library by the sea (St. Simmons Island, GA). I toured one of the oldest library buildings in the United States – Georgia Historical Society’s Hodgson Hall (Savannah, GA). While on this road to antiquity, I passed through America’s oldest summer resort (Wolfeboro, NH) and her oldest city (St. Augustine, FL), visiting family and friends, meeting new people, and learning history along the way.
Below are a few photos of these adventures–since I am back online again!
Rebecca, you certainly are making “history relevant” for all ages. Thank you!
I try~ Thanks, Merlin!
